Did you know, that many of the corporate regulations we are familiar with, particularly those that came after the 2008 financial crisis, were not in response to shareholder demands. Rather, they were driven by politicians without any regard for their potential adverse impact on corporate performance and shareholder return — shareholders like you and I, like school teachers and fire fighters.

My guest in this episode thinks that it’s important for people to understand that shareholders are not unhappy with executive pay — regardless of how passionately politicians may decry the excessiveness and extravagance of executive pay.
