According to historian John Fea, many Trump followers find common ground with others who seek refuge from change by urging a return to a utopian Leave it to Beaver version of America that never actually existed.

Did you know, that the 10 richest men in America are worth more than the bottom 45% of Americans? This will likely make economic inequality one of the most important, if not the most important, issues in this year’s presidential election.

The News:

We are now in an election year that follows a historically chaotic year for the US Congress.

History Behind News:

If Mr. Trump does become the candidate for the Republican Party for the 2024 presidential election, then we will essentially have a repeat of the 1892 election with some differences.

For starters, the stark similarity is that a former president will run against a sitting president in a rematch of the immediate prior election.

In 1888, President Grover Cleveland lost to Benjamin Harrison, a Republican. Cleveland was the only Democratic president in the long stretch from James Buchanan (1857–61) to Woodrow Wilson (1913–21). The 1892 presidential election was a rematch — former President Cleveland ran against the sitting President, Harrison. This would be like former President Trump running against President Biden in 2024.
