402 years have passed since that First Thanksgiving. And four centuries make for a long tradition. But is our Thanksgiving tradition really founded on what happened on that First Thanksgiving? And was that First Thanksgiving anything like the featured image here?

The news is that it’s Thanksgiving.

The History Behind News:

Did you know, that the Indians and Pilgrims didn’t plan for a feast together in that famous Thanksgiving of 1621? In fact, the pilgrims had already started the feast and festivities when, for reasons that you’ll find out in this episode, the Indians showed up uninvited and unannounced.

And did you know, that Indians and Pilgrims didn’t have a second Thanksgiving the next year in 1622, or in 1623, or in 1624, or in any other year after that?
