What If Taylor Swift Performed Opera?

Would she be the megastar that she is today?

Well, if our young adults now listen to what they used to listen to in the 19th century, Ms. Swift’s star would perhaps shine even brighter. Of course, with the caveat that Ms. Swift would have to sing opera!

The New:

Unless you have been living in a cave with no internet connection for about a year or so, you have mostly definitely noticed that news and stories about Taylor Swift are everywhere — on CBNC, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The New York Times, in university scholarly journals, and certainly in music industry publications. She is in the tabloids and she is in our movie theatres.

To put it simply, The Eras Tour, Ms. Swift’s concert tour, has become a phenomenon.

This weekend, in Bueno Aires, Argentina, in full view of everyone, Ms. Taylor Swift kissed and embraced Travis Kelce — The Kansas City Chiefs tight end who has won two Super Bowls — and made their relationship public.

The prelude to this public kiss was Ms. Swift’s changing the lyrics to her song “Karma” during the concert, which Mr. Kelce watched from the sidelines. NBC News, 11/12/23. This is the new line in the lyrics of her hit song “Karma”:
